A Message From Head Men's Basketball's Coach Massinger

As you know, we played Scappoose in the 7 mile war Friday night at home. We won 72-66. We were lead by our All League 3 time returning starting point guard Drake Dow who played all 32 minutes! He lead us with 21 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds 2 steals and 2 3 point FG and shooting 50% from the floor!

We could not have accomplished such a great win without his fantastic on court presence. He has really grown into a leader. Drake helps get guys into the right spots to be successful. He knows when to push the tempo and when to slow it down. He loves to get guys involved and as a result, everyone got to get it going at one point or another Friday night. If this season is going to be as special as I think it will be, he will have to get us there.

Jacob Falk had a monster game. 21 points, 17 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 steal and 1 assist. He still has lots of potential to be great, but has come along nicely. Jacob is another 3 year Varsity player and a returning All League selection from last season. He can be a beast night in and night out if he wants it badly enough.

Joe Rea a sophomore returning varsity player, crashed the boards hard and got hot in the 3rd quarter. He finished with 16 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 3 3 point FG. He played with a lot of fire in the 3rd quarter and didn't let his rough first half take him out of the game. I was proud of his resolve.

Owen Wolfe a returning Varsity starting senior, had a quiet but very effective game. 8 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks, 2 steals. He anchors our defense and allows us to compete with anyone. Do not be surprised to see Owen fill the stat sheets on a nightly basis. He can be as good and dominant as Jacob. Those twin towers are a force to be reckoned with.

Devin McCall had 4 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds and a huge 3rd quarter corner 3 pointer that seemed to snap the net. He is a senior returning from injury last season. We are elated to have him back

Jacob Erceg, a junior guard had a 3 point FG in the first quarter to help set the tone that we can shoot from deep.

Chris Beatty, a junior forward had 3 big time rebounds for us off the bench and played great reserve big man minutes.

Trenton Minich was a DNP due to injury. We are looking forward to having him back ASAP. He is a returning Varsity starting guard.

We hope to see you Tuesday night at home vs. North Salem where we look to go 2-0 for the first time in over 4 years.

Have a great Monday!
